Whether pleasure hiking or alpine tours. Visitors of the Rosental can experience unspoilt nature, far from mass tourism: Easy walking trails, challenging mountain tours around the mountain-climber village Zell-Sele or in the Bodental. Fantastic panorama views, border-crossing tours and comfortable sun terraces are waiting at the panoramic trail Südalpen: it covers 17 stages, 226 km and 13,589 m altitude difference. Those who like, can be accompanied by certified mountain- and hiking guides.

Following the footsteps
of Saint Hemma

For the pilgrims of the Hemma pilgrim path, from Celje (Slovenia) over the Old Loibl through the Tscheppaschlucht to Gurk, we offer food and accommodation for a pilgrim-friendly price for meals (pilgrim menu) and overnight stay as well as our own stamp for the pilgrim pass.

We offer free shuttle-service from the public transport centres in Klagenfurt or Ferlach. After your overnight stay, you will be taken to your desired starting point of the pilgrimage.

The Tscheppaschlucht
is something else!

“Right in front of our door” we offer you the unique nature spectacles Tscheppaschlucht and Tschaukofall, the well-known waterfall. Working its way for thousands of years, the powerful force of water has created a bizarre landscape, unmatched in its encounter of Illyrian and Mediterranean vegetation. You can cross this amazing area in about 2 hrs on secured paths, over ladders and footbridges.

The Tscheppaschlucht and its surroundings offer many more attractions: canyoning in the ravine, the nature trail “In the footsteps of Dr. Peter Tschauko”, the Carinthian border trail, the Old Loiblpass, the Ferlacher Horn – just to name a few.
